Job Description
Job Summary The Factory Hand is responsible for supporting the end-to-end tile manufacturing process. This role involves inspecting raw materials, operating machinery from elevated platforms, and performing rigorous quality checks on finished ceramic tiles to eliminate defects before packaging. Core Responsibilities Raw Material Inspection & Handling Inspect incoming raw batches (clay, feldspar, silica) for visible impurities before mixing. Feed raw materials accurately into crushing, milling, and processing machinery. Monitor material storage silos to ensure a continuous supply for the production line. Platform Operations & Machine Monitoring Work on elevated operating platforms to monitor large hydraulic forming presses and Kiln feed lines. Clear material blockages promptly on the platforms to prevent assembly line stoppages. Report any machine malfunctions or pressure variations immediately to the shift supervisor. Tile Quality Checking & Sorting Conduct continuous visual inspections of tiles on the sorting line after they exit the kiln. Identify and remove defective tiles showing cracks, glaze errors, or color mismatches. Gauge tile sizes and thickness against approved quality benchmarks. Housekeeping & Safety Keep all operating platforms, walkways, and raw material zones clean and free of dust or debris. Wear mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, including steel-toe boots, hard hats, and dust masks.
Requirement(s)
Minimum of a Junior High School (JHS) or Senior High School (SHS) certificate (or a valid official results slip). Must possess a valid Ghana Card for mandatory background verification. High physical stamina, capable of lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods on operating platforms. Excellent eyesight and attention to detail for spotting tiny tile defects on the fast-moving inspection line. Willingness to work in a structured shift system (including day and night rotations).
