Job Description

The chemist is responsible for conducting chemical analyses of water, wastewater, and other environmental samples collected as part of environmental monitoring programs. The role includes performing quantitative and qualitative analyses using laboratory instruments, developing and managing analytical reports, and maintaining a proper documentation and reporting system The chemist should be knowledgeable about U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) analytical procedures and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) methods, as well as American Water Works Association (AWWA) standards and methodologies for water analysis. Responsibilities also include data recording, report preparation, and result verification. The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry and have at least one (1) year of practical experience in a water or environmental laboratory. Proficiency in the English language (reading and writing) is required.
