Job Description

International Procurement & Sourcing Logistics & Transport Coordination Cost Management & Budgeting Inventory Management Data Analysis & Reporting Manage the daily activities of the supply chain unit. Identify and evaluate international suppliers, negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to meet company requirements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers and vendors. Source for medical consumables from international markets while considering cost, quality, and delivery timelines. Assess potential suppliers for quality, reliability, and capacity to meet company needs. Conduct due diligence of international suppliers and factories to ensure compliance with company standards as well as applicable FDA regulations Collaborate with logistics companies to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods from international suppliers. Optimize freight forwarding and shipping solutions while ensuring compliance with customs regulations. Track international shipments and resolve any transportation-related issues, including customs, FDA, GSA clearances. Coordinate with the Finance & Sales Team to monitor and manage procurement budgets for international sourcing. Conduct cost analysis to find opportunities for cost reduction whilst optimizing on quality or delivery timelines. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs laws, FDA regulations and any applicable laws and regulation of importation of medical products. Stay updated on global sourcing trends, trade regulations, tariffs, and taxes. Identify risks in the international supply chain like manufacturing delays, raw materials shortages, transport disruptions etc. and develop mitigation strategies to address them. Work with sales teams to track stock levels, lead times, and product demand to maintain an optimal supply chain flow that avoids shortages. Forecast international demand and ensure the timely procurement of the medical consumables. Prepare regular reports on international sourcing performance, costs, and supplier performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Analyze sourcing trends and recommend strategic adjustments to improve operational efficiency. Collaborate with internal departments (such as finance and sales) to ensure the timely availability of products to meet customer demands. Provide support and insights for new product development, ensuring international sourcing aligns with product specifications and market demands Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management (especially procurement experience) in the medical /pharmaceutical industry in Ghana and/or the subregion. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in supply chain software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with global market, inventory management, transportation logistics, vendor management, and supply chain optimization techniques. APICS or equivalent certifications (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
