Job Description

The Kitchen Storekeeper is responsible for managing and organizing kitchen inventory, ensuring proper storage of food and supplies, and maintaining accurate stock records. This role is crucial in ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently by keeping ingredients and materials wellstocked and readily available. Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management & Stock Control Receive, inspect, and verify the quality and quantity of delivered kitchen supplies and food items. Organize and maintain storage areas, ensuring food is stored properly and in accordance with health and safety regulations. Implement the First In, First Out (FIFO) method to minimize waste and spoilage. Monitor stock levels and replenish supplies as needed. Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock checks. Supplier Coordination & Ordering Communicate with suppliers to place orders for kitchen essentials. Compare prices and quality of ingredients to optimize cost e=iciency. Ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any discrepancies in deliveries.

Requirement(s)

Proven experience as a storekeeper, inventory manager, or similar role in a kitchen or restaurant. Knowledge of food storage and handling procedures. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with inventory management software (preferred but not required). Basic math skills for stock counting and order calculations. Physical ability to lift and carry heavy supplies.
