Job Description
CUTS International Accra is recruiting a full-time on-site research assistant to become part of its dynamic team. The role of a Research Associate is paramount to driving CUTS’ cutting-edge studies, generating insightful data, and supporting the evidence-based advocacy needs of the organization. This pivotal role demands a blend of technical expertise, analytical acumen, and dedicated scholarship to push the boundaries of knowledge within our field. As a Research Associate, you will be at the heart of our research initiatives. Your contributions will directly help generate the evidence required for informing policy for inclusive growth. Responsibilities: Design and conduct research studies. Collect, analyze, and interpret data using statistical techniques. Prepare and present research findings in written and oral formats. Maintain accurate and detailed records of research activities and results. Review and synthesize relevant literature to support research projects. Assist in the preparation of grant applications and funding proposals. Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Develop and implement data collection methods and tools. Translate research report into advocacy tools and engage the media on the same Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure coordination with external stakeholders. Perform other administrative and programmatic roles.
Requirement(s)
Master’s in Economics (MA, MSc, or MPhil) or MA in International Trade Law or a relevant masters plus a minimum of three years of experience. Strong understanding of international trade, competition policy, and consumer protection among others as well as ability to offer actionable insights Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and statistical software (e.g., SPSS) Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Familiarity with data management and visualization tools. Knowledge of ethical standards in research and data integrity
